If you’re looking for a new and unique fine-dining spot that fuses Japanese and French cuisines, look no further – because TiTi Fusion houses the perfect blend of creative and delectable dishes that will satisfy your taste buds! Last Saturday, we were lucky enough to get a taste of TiTi Fusion and all it has to offer, and it definitely left us wanting more. Before we go through the 6-course Dégustation menu, let’s take a look at how TiTi Fusion came to be.

If you’re Malaysian, you might be familiar with the Malay term ‘titi’, which translates to ‘bridge’. TiTi Fusion is basically the symbolic bridge that brings people together, and it emphasizes a point of connection where food meets people. The restaurant is inspired by its vision to be the ultimate host for people to come together over a memorable and shared dining experience.

They aim to bring together a unique manner of food, design, and space. Customers can experience a warm and friendly atmosphere while wining and dining at TiTi Fusion! However, their dishes are more than just food. Rather, they’re a presentation of identity created by the marriage of Japanese and French cultures in one dish, assembled by a trio of internationally trained chefs!

The 6-course Dégustation menu includes a mix of sweet and savoury dishes that create the perfect blend of flavours! Here’s the menu for reference:

To start us off, we were served with a Scallop Tartare with Seaweed Cracker, which featured marinated scallop with hijiki and truffle, seaweed cracker, anchovies aioli, and caviar. Let’s say that this was the perfect starter dish that stimulated our appetites. The scallop paired with the caviar, on top of the seaweed cracker, culminated in the perfect bite that many will enjoy.

Moving on to the soup, we were served Mushroom Soup with Truffle and Onion Consommé, which surprisingly, stood out from the rest of the dishes, despite not being one of the main courses. The Mushroom Soup had an aromatic smell that didn’t overpower the taste, which was a creamy combination of truffle paste, compressed shitake mushroom, chive, and truffle oil. The Onion Consommé, on the other hand, was smooth and simple, yet still rich in flavour!

We were served with some baked cod fish with rutabaga, scallion and ginger paste, kaffir and matcha dust, anchovies aioli, caviar, and fish fumet. This dish embodied the Japanese and French fusion theme of the restaurant flawlessly, balancing the earthy flavour of matcha and the perfectly baked cod!

Onto the main event, we indulged in some A5 Japanese Wagyu and Wild Duck with Foie Gras. Needless to say, the wagyu was excellently prepared, and it had a trio of accompaniments which included truffle pate, caviar, and pickled mustard grain, all of which paired well with the pan-seared wagyu A5! As for the wild duck, let’s just say it was our favourite dish of the day! The pan-seared wild duck breast and foie gras were accompanied by carrot puree, red wine fig, micro crest, and a miso balsamic reduction, creating an amazing blend of savoury goodness.

After the main course, we were treated to some Cold Goma Somen. The dish was assembled with Goma dressing, toasted sesame seed, julienne spring onion, pickled cucumber, and togarashi oil, which brought a new twist to the classic Japanese Cold Somen Noodles!

Last but not least, we had their Beets with Peanut Crémeux for dessert, and it certainly brought the entire 6-course meal to a homerun! The beetroot combined with the peanut crémeux made a divine pairing that had us craving for more.

Overall, TiTi Fusion is a must-try fine dining establishment because of its excellent fusion of French and Japanese cultures in all of its dishes as well as its excellent service and ambiance. It’s a 10/10 from us!
