Always wanted to play team sports such as ultimate frisbee, dodgeball and bubble futsal but have no clue on where to get started or have no one to share your enthusiasm? Meet Sports Bandits, Kuala Lumpur’s first social sports community, where you can play some of these modern sports with a bunch of like-minded individuals.
Sports Bandits is formed with the aim of encouraging young busy professionals to get active and social by providing ease and accessibility to an enjoyable sports experience. Along with a fun social community, Sports Bandits organises team sports such as volleyball, dodgeball, basketball, ultimate frisbee, capture the flag and bubble futsal. New sports such as Flag Football, Kick Ball and Quidditch (yes, this is not a typo) will be introduced very soon.
There are no requirements to join this community – all you need is to be interested, be willing to learn, want to meet new people and have fun in a healthy and positive way.
Sessions are facilitated by trained staff members and you don’t have to worry about equipment, venue rental and teammates as these will be taken care by the organisers.
And what happens after your session? Sports Bandits uses a system that will integrate all offline activities onto an online portal where participants’ actions will be recorded and rewarded. As a participant, you will collect ‘points’ for active participation and that includes the number of sessions attended as well as every new person you talk to. The collected points will be converted into a badge or you may choose to redeem a prize at the end of each season. Great for competitive types and those who are looking for a new self-challenge.
If your New Year’s resolution is to get fit and more active, Sports Bandits is having a promotion this month where the first session is free for each sport. Find out more at www.sportsbandits.com.
