Get to know a wide range of Italian products at Italia A Tavola – Italy at Your Table, a mini Italian food fair by Ben’s Independent Grocer (B.I.G.) in collaboration with the Italian Trade Commission. You will also get to taste Italian specialities during food demonstrations by Chef Massimo Zampar, who, apart from having more than 10 years of culinary experience, has also served Charles, Prince of Wales at Bauer Hotel, Italy.
A wheel of Parmigiano-Reggiano from Italy weighing about 40 kg was broken down by Chef Massimo last Saturday, August 24th, to celebrate this Italian fair. If you weren’t at B.I.G Publika to witness this cheese-arean, fret not! ‘Italia A Tavola’ has more activities lined up until Monday, September 2nd 2013. ‘The ABCs of Italian Cuisines’ is an education food demo and simple cooking tips by the chef himself, after which you’ll get to sample various delights such as olive oil with bread, some salt and black pepper, balsamic vinegar with sautéed strawberries, Parmigiano-Reggiano with balsamic vinegar, pears and grapes.
A variety of Italian imports such as cheeses, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, pasta, sauces, condiments, coffee, native Italian fruits and vegetables will also be presented and made available at B.I.G throughout the fair.
