So you’ve finally found yourself in a serious relationship with a new man in your life, but you notice that your friends have been a little unhappy with how you’re spending more time with the guy than with them. Even though you’re not ‘ditching’ them unintentionally, here’s a couple of tricks for you to balance your romance and friendship to keep all parties happy.
Get Together
There’s not need to make everything a date when you go out with your man. Instead of constantly going out just you two together, make it a big outing by getting him to invite some his friends, and you can bring your close friends along too. It’ll be fun and it’ll give your friends a reason to understand why you enjoy spending time with this new guy anyways!
Make the Time
So, you spend most of your weekends with your man, and most days during the week is spent trying to get your work done, but even though you’re so busy, you can still make the time to meet up with your girlfriends. You don’t always have to sit down together to have a conversation. If you’re going out to get some groceries, or even driving out to run some errands, you can still keep each other in the loop of what’s going on with each other’s lives. Let’s not forget that you can also keep in touch through a voice call over the computer.
Share Your Feelings
As you’re constantly sharing the way you feel about things, let your boyfriend know how important it is to you that you stay in touch with your friends and to see them as much as you go out with him. Let him know that you cherish your circle of friends and would not want to risk losing them. At the same time, try making that appeal to your friends too. If they know how important he is to you, they’ll be certainly grateful that you’re letting them know how much they mean to you. After all, good friends will understand and be happy with what you chose to do in life.
Give Him Space
Most guys love their space and time to indulge in their hobbies – videogames, football, and more. Boys will be boys, so while you’re giving him some time off to catch up with his interests, do the same and meet your girls for dinner, yoga and more. And beside, a little time apart will only keep the relationship stronger.
