The logic behind this?
Imagine if you were to place a brand new sponge on a table and put a few heavy books on top of it. After two or three days, the sponge will eventually start to change in terms of shape right? This is about the same explanation which scientist have developed after they conducted their research. According to Health and Fitness.com, the more you sit down, the more your buttock cells will enlarge and the fat droplets which are dropped will be bigger. The more you sit, the more the cells will stretch (same concept as the sponge) and the bigger the droplets are formed hence the bigger your buttocks would get.
How can you overcome this?
It is totally understandable if you were to say that you work requires you to sit down for an average of 6 hours per day behind your desk. Some managers may even give you the 411’s on how you shouldn’t go out often as they fear that you wouldn’t be able to finish the required tasks which you are supposed to finish. Though it isn’t healthy for you to sit down for long hours, but you just can’t help it as you need to work. Simple exercises while you’re working will actually help. Here is what you can do to tone your thighs and buttocks.
The leg exercise
With one leg lifted up behind your buttocks and the other being down, start moving your leg which is down in circles. After 30 seconds, change legs and start moving the other leg in circles.

The buttock exercise
This is the easiest exercise as all you would need to do is sit down and squeeze your buttocks hardly onto the chair. Then release it and do it a few more times.Hold the squeeze really hard before releasing it.
The knee exercise
When your sitting down, move your buttocks to the edge of the chair and ensure both legs are flat on the ground while your back is straight. Slowly raise one leg up from the ground as much as you can and after a few seconds bring it down. Do this for the other legs as well.
