Victoria’s Secret: Angels share their workout regimes

Being a supermodel is not easy. Much more so if you’re one of the elites (read: Victoria’s Secret’s Angel). And when you’re on the runway, clad in “barely there” lingerie, you can’t hide anything. Thousands of cameras are just coming right at you, from all angles.

Everything has to be perfect from every single Swavorski crystal on the costume to smudge-proof makeup, to making sure that not a single strand of hair is left unstyled.

After all, when broken down into numbers, the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is truly one of the most expensive runway productions of our time. But that’s that.

Today, three “Angels” share a little bit on how they stay perfect (yes, perfect!) beyond hair and makeup, and what their secret workout regimes are. Take note!

Adriana Lima

She channels her wild side while keeping weight off and staying healthy by doing “capoeira”. It’s a Brazilian art form that combines elements of martial arts, sports, and music. Known by quick and complex moves, the high intensity cardio exercise “Capoeira” include power kicks, quick leg sweeps, some ground and aerial acrobatics, knee strikes, take-downs, elbow strikes, punches, and headbutts. And yes, you might not want to mess with Adriana Lima anytime soon.

Candice Swanepoel

Most models have a fixed gym schedule to stave off unwanted and unsightly “lady lumps”. Some have more intensive workout sessions than others. But workouts get real for Candice Swanpoel. She revealed that she embeds the combat sport, boxing, into her weekly schedule. The technique usually requires tremendous power output and superior fitness levels so, you guessed it, this “Angel” can kick ass.

Alessandra Ambrosio

Her colleagues might’ve opted for more hardcore and intensive workout regimes but one “Angel” has decided that she should take it slow with a bit of yoga and a dash of pilates. The low-intensity programs are perfect for those who want to tone their muscles at a moderate pace. At the same time, yoga and pilates are also known to be programs with other positive effects such as improving one’s flexibility and posture. Oh, that explains the grace in which Alessandra Ambrosio carries herself.

Phew! Broke a sweat just reading that. Trust the “Angels” to really know how to have fun while working out. What did you say? Your gym routine is boring? Well, then polish your way to a more defined silhouette with the above-mentioned complete set of tricks of the workout trade, as proven by the “Angels”.
