Lover for rent anyone?
It’s revenge time for the newly single as a new social media platform provides them with a service that works to convince their exes that they have found a much hotter and better partner.
According to UK Metro, Rent-a-Rebound charges $500 to flood social media accounts with pictures and messages from a fun and sexy new lover, who is completely fictional.
Simple send Wish.co.uk pictures of yourself looking particularly happy or fawned over next to a blank space, in which a hunk or stunner can be added in via Photoshop.
“You’ll be seen checking in together at that Narnia themed restaurant where it’s impossible to get a table,” the website promises.
In addition to having your hot new lover being super-imposed into pictures on your Facebook and/or Instagram accounts, Spotify will also feature playlists of love songs dedicated to both the lovers. To make it more believable and legitimate, your timeline will also be flooded with comments and questions from friends and co-workers, such as, “How can one person know so much obscure French poetry and do so many push-ups?” These posts will specifically flaunt characteristics your ex had lacked.
Rent-A-Rebound was launched earlier this month by British friends Stephen Pavlovich and Richard Kershaw.
“The psychology behind it is that you want what you can’t have and you want what other people have,” said Stephen. “The two paired together gets a reaction. Clients see it as fun rather than malicious.”
Winning back your ex, however, is not promised nor guaranteed.
