Cooking is a fun yet messy thing to do, especially when all the grease and grime sticks to every surface in the kitchen. This is especially more prevalent when you do a lot of cooking in the dry kitchen in apartments. As someone who cooks a lot in the inner kitchen, I find it a huge chore to clean everything, from the cabinet doors to the kitchen counter. How to get rid of all the grease and grime? You can’t just use any detergent since it might destroy the surface. Here are some tips on how to get rid of those yucky things stuck on everything.
Cabinets: Unscrew all the knobs and handles. Soak them for a while in equal quantities of distilled vinegar and warm water. Use some dish washing liquid and a soft brush to gently scrub the remaining grime off the knobs. As for the surface areas, use some dish washing detergent and slowly scrub the grime off using a circular motion. Do not use anything too rough to scrub or you might spoil the veneer or the lacquer.
Stove and Tabletops: For tabletops, you can just use your usual kitchen cleaners purchased from the store. Just make sure not to use metal or Scotch Brites or you might scratch the surface instead. Just a dishwashing sponge or a stiff sponge. Scrub in a circular motion to hasten the removal of grime instead of scrubbing till your fingers fall off. For stoves, I realised the best cleaner is Jif; a non-abrasive cleaning product. This makes cleaning all the grime from your stove and even your kitchen sink much easier.
Whatever it is, the most important thing you have to remember is not to let your kitchen get too filthy before you clean it up. If not, you might end up spending the entire day scrubbing till your arms get sore. Just do it every week or so depending on your cooking frequency.
