We were sad when we were told that the meatballs are no longer for sale at IKEA Restaurant and Swedish Food Market until the release of DNA results. Well surprise, surprise. The wait is finally over as the all-time favourite is back onto the menu from tomorrow, March 8th!
With reference to the recent horsemeat-meatball issue, the DNA result has confirmed that the meatballs sold at IKEA Restaurant and Swedish Food Market have no traces of horsemeat and purely made from beef.
The local independent lab gave a resounding ‘neigh’ to horsemeat, reaffirming that the meatballs sold locally contain only beef.
As customer confidence and trust is the utmost importance to IKEA, IKEA Malaysia is committed to serve the halal certified and healthy food produced locally with care for the environment. To celebrate its return, IKEA Malaysia will be rolling out the meatballs for one-day special promo with 20sen a piece (only on March 8 2013), giving customers another reason to enjoy the iconic dish.
