We’re all about giving women, of all age and background a little survival knowledge in this world of many hidden secrets, so we’re sharing some knowledge on how you can sizzle up your house parties, or even your night alone with your man with a few cocktails in mind. Here’s five cocktail recipes every girl should come equipped with!
1. Martini
It’s classiest cocktail for a lady in a black dress, and there’s a reason why it’s James Bond’s favorite cocktail.
You’ll need:
1/4 oz dry vermouth
2 oz gin
2 stuffed olives
Get a cocktail shaker, and fill it up with ice. Pour in the vermouth, followed by the gin. Shake it 30 times and pour it in a martini glass. Garnish with an olive or two.
2. Bloody Mary
It’s tart, refreshing and savory and it’s said to be the only cocktail to cure a hangover in the morning.
You’ll need:
1 oz vodka
0.5 oz lemon juice
3 oz tomato juice
6 drops of Worcestershire Sauce
4 drops of Tabasco Sauce
1 pinch of salt
1 pinch of black pepper
1 celery stalk
Combine ingredients (except celery) in two mixing glasses and pour ingredients back and forth. Strain into a ice-filled glass and garnish with celery stalk.
3. Gin and Tonic
A good gin and tonic is simple, smooth and refreshing. It’s a common favorite among everyone in bars and it’s relatively easy to make at home.
You’ll need:
1 oz gin
5 oz tonic water
1 lime wedge
Pour gin and tonic water in a tall glass filled with ice cubes. Stir and garnish with lime wedge.
4. Mojito
A glass of mojito is perfect on a hot sunny day. It’s minty fresh, and did you know that it was one of Ernest Hemingway’s favorite cocktails? It’s truly love at first sip!
You’ll need:
1.25 oz of spiced rum
12 mint leaves
1 tbsp sugar
0.5 oz lime juice
2 oz soda
Place some mint leaves at the bottom of the glass, then add some crushed ice, spiced rum, sugar and lime juice, then muddle the ingredients. Add soda water, and garnish with more mint leaves.
5. Screwdriver
It’s Wednesday night, and you find yourself really needing something to help you calm down after a rough day. The screwdriver is by far one of the easiest cocktail to make, and all you need is your morning orange juice and that bottle of vodka sneaking in your cabinet.
You’ll need:
1 part vodka
2 parts orange juice.
Pour ingredients over in a high glass filled with ice, garnish with orange and enjoy.
