10 Tips to Effective Weight-loss

Weight-loss is one major thing in every woman’s mind. There’s no denying that having the body of Victoria’s Secret model may just be every woman’s dream. But weight-loss is not about being a slender figure envied by others, but it’s all about healthy eating, a good fitness plan and most of all, discipline. Here are 10 tips that should get you on the right track to a trimmer you.

1. Get Motivated 
The first move when strategizing a weight-loss plan is to get motivated as much as you can. Do not let negativity be that voice to drive you to lose weight. Do it for yourself. Think about the reasons why you want to get fit, and write all of them down into a notebook. In fact, why not get crafty and put it all on an inspiration board to remind you about your goals to achieve everyday.

2. Meet a Physician
Before venturing into a long-term fitness plan, or even a short-tem one for that matter, consult a physician for an overall body check-up first. Take a blood-test, get all your measurements right, and even decide on your heart health. A physician will analyze your test results, and will give you some tips on what you should do more or eat less, to keep you from overdoing it.

3. Know Your Body Type
Getting fit can be hard, especially when you’re unaware that different body types shed fat at different spots and speed. There are three kinds of body types – ectomorphs, mesomorphs and endomorphs. Identifying your exact body type will help you come up with a plan to focus on the parts of your body that need attention. Identify whether you’re a ectomorph, mesomorph or endomorph, and strategize a fitness plan for a trimmer you here.

4. Add, Not Subtract
Cutting down the number of food we have on our plate can be very disappointing, so instead of subtracting how much food you have on your plate, stock it up with a lot of fresh and nutritious foods, like fresh fruits and vegetables. Don’t miss out on fibrous and filling foods like pumpkin, sweet potatoes and salads, too. Don’t forget to add more fatty fish into your diet to help replenish your body cells to give you radiant skin.

5. Get Distracted
There’s no denying that we’ll always be struck with these massive cravings for something sweet like ice cream and cake. If you ever feel like it, distract yourself with the help of your friends and family. Reach out for your cellphone, or switch on your Facebook page and start a conversation with a friend to keep you on track of your fitness plan. A good friend will even throw in a couple of motivating words like “You look so great already, so don’t give in”.

6. Stay Hydrated
Drinking plenty of water does not only keep you hydrated, but it’ll help flush out any toxins in your body. Every form of food leaves residue inside your body, and as it stays inside our body, it begins to turn bad, just like it would out in the open. So get all those dirty remnants out of your body with at least 2-3 litres of water a day, and get into the habit of drinking a glass of lemon juice first thing in the morning too.

7. Get Some Sleep
Getting the right amount of rest is crucial when it comes to weight loss. Being well-rested each day will keep your mind and body awake, making it easier for you to stay motivated. A balance of good exercise will also help you sleep well.

8. Snack Smart
Whenever you’re feeling peckish for something savory or sweet, make your own healthy snacks at home instead. There are many things you can do with a few ingredients to create a delicious snack. Here are 10 Healthy Snacks Under 100 Calories.

9. Strategize a Workout Planner
If you’ve got a gym membership, circulate your fitness regime and try out something different for each session. Attend a yoga class on Mondays, spinning on Wednesdays, kick-boxing on Fridays, or whichever feels easier for you. Don’t strain yourself during a workout session. It should help you release all the stress you have in your body, not pile-up more anxiety on.

10. Get Out There and Do Something
While the gym may be a motivating place to workout, there are a million other things in the world that will help you maintain a fit lifestyle. Walk your dog, go hiking, volunteer at a charity event, hike the mall, exploring every store at every lot. There are so many things you can do  to keep a fit lifestyle, it’s just the effort you put in to make it worthwhile!
