Groupon Malaysia, Miss Universe Malaysia Organisation and GRIM FILM has recently announced their collaborative effort to bring life to the ‘Be the Difference’ fundraising campaign, which encourages Malaysians to help charitable causes.
Joel Neoh, Vice President and General Manager of Groupon Southeast Asia and India said “with greater awareness, simplicity of modern technology and a little bit of generosity, a lot can be achieved in improving the lives and wellbeing of those less fortunate than ourselves”.
With the help of special microsite hosted by Groupon, Malaysians will have over 300 hours to contribute to 17 separate causes chosen by the 17 finalists of the next Miss Universe Malaysia 2013. Full proceeds generated by “Be the Difference’ campaign will then be channelled directly to the charitable organizations chosen by the finalists.
National Director of Miss Universe Malaysia Organisation said “Miss Universe Malaysia has a proud history of supporting communities and creating greater awareness around issues which really do matter in our society. The diversity of charities which have been selected are a further reflection of the diverse views and issues which matter to our 17 finalists and which they hope to create greater appreciation for, and we hope Malaysians will join us Being The Difference to those in need.”
The 17 organisations selected by the next Miss Universe Malaysia 2013 finalists are Shelter Home for Children, HOPE Worldwide, Rumah HOPE, SPCA Selangor, KIWANIS Job Training Centre, Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better, Rumah Kasih Nurul Hasanah, Dyslexia Malaysia, the House of Joy, the Good Samaritan House, the Shepherd’s Centre Foundation, the Saint Barnabas Home, the Precious Children Home, SPCA Sabah, SPCA Sarawak, Malaysian Nature Society and Yayasan Chow Kit.
The ‘Be the Difference’ microsite will be featuring 17 different causes on Groupon from 29th October to 11 November 2012, giving Malaysians over 300 hours in which they could join Groupon, Miss Malaysia Organisation and GRIM FILM in Being the Difference.
