Alongside modelling, former beauty queen Deborah Henry contributes her time and effort to champion the lives of the marginalised communities in Malaysia. It all started when the model cum TV host hosted a documentary on refugees for UNHCR and wanting to do more for the community, she co-founded Fugee School for refugee children and adolescents.

Staying true to her mission, the model of Indian and Irish descent realised the need to seek for minds alike in help of sourcing income and expanding help to a wider community of refugees in Malaysia. With that, Deborah recently launched Fugeelah – a start-up offering lifestyle accessories collections crafted by the children with stories to tell.

Fugeelah’s accessories are inspired by the crafts of Fugee School students who boast various culture, stories and life journeys to share through their art. Involving the students in every process from conceptualisation to craftsmanship, production and marketing, the debut collection of Fugeelah presents a comprehensive selection of jewelry, two scarves and a clutch.
