A day without a friend is like a pot without a single drop of honey left inside, Winnie the Pooh once said. The cuddly bear is just a cartoon character from our childhood, but what he says rings true – can you imagine a life without friends? It’d certainly be a dull and lonely one!
However, as we grow older, we tend to lose a few friends along the way. This might be caused by misunderstandings, a clash of egos or a case of hurt feelings, but before you decide to burn the bridge, maybe you should consider to be the bigger person and to forgive your friend.
If you’ve recently had a fight with your girlfriend, then read on to find out why we think it’s not worth breaking the friendship.

1) There’s always a first time
Remember, no one’s perfect – if your friend made a mistake for the first time, then forgive her! It’s a different matter all together if she has done the same mistake a few times already. And if so, she may not even have realized what she’s done to upset you, so talk about it to her first to clear the air.
2) It’s never too late to apologise
If she’s apologised a few times, then put your ego aside and forgive her – after all, it takes a big person to admit mistakes, and an even bigger person to forgive and forget.

3) She has forgiven you before
Think about the times when you’ve hurt her feelings and she chose to forgive you. It’s time for you to do the same.
4) How grave was her mistake?
There’s no measurement for hurt, but you could measure the gravity of her mistake. Trivial matters like her borrowing your favourite CD and not returning it should not be a reason for you to end a friendship. However, if it’s something more serious, like back stabbing or spreading rumours – well, ‘To the left!’ as Beyonce sings!

5) True friends are hard to find
Lastly, you should always remember that true friends are hard to find, so don’t let an argument make you lose your close friend. Has she been there for you through hard times? Can you talk to her about anything and everything under the sun? Is she the person you call when you’re in trouble? If the answer was ‘yes’, then push that silly argument behind you. Talk about it with her, laugh about it after, and be thankful for the great friendship that you have with her!
