When you think Scissor Sisters, you think feel good tunes. And if that’s what you’re seeking, then with Magic Hour, you won’t be disappointed.
The Scissor Sisters have always been a glam rock, disco pop kind of band – and though they have moved on a little (by little, we mean two or three mainstream-sounding songs), they have still stuck to their originality.
For a band that was formed in 2001, we find it pretty admirable that they are keeping that 80s pop feel to their songs. The younger generation needs to appreciate this more!
From Magic Hour, their first single was ‘Only The Horses’, and it has already become a hit on the radio and online. We’re pretty sure you’ve heard it.
The great thing about the Scissor Sisters is that they have never slipped out of their disco-style songs but none the less, they are embracing the new trends of house music, by adding two special remixes by renowned DJs to their song ‘F*** Yeah’ and ‘Let’s Have A Kiki’.
If you were a fan of their song ‘I Don’t Feel Like Dancing’ then fret not because on this new album, there is a similar song – ‘Baby Come Home To Me’ – it’s along the same beats and will no doubt make you move from left to right.
When it comes to the lyrics, the Scissor Sisters have a unique way of getting their message across – and if you listen closely, you will notice it. But there is doubt that their music will make you see the colour in our black-and-white concept of life.
Magic Hour was for us, an hour of magic to our ears.
Top three choices from this album:
1.) Only The Horses
2.) F*** Yeah (Seamus Haji Remix)
3.) The Secret Life Of Letters
