2016’s been quite the emotional roller coaster for most of us, but the whole year hasn’t been a complete disaster…so far.
However, one of the best things from 2016 is the string of body positive movements propping up! The #BellyJelly campaign encourages women to what many might consider unthinkable – bare their bellies when they’re working out.

“Why not love every part of you, and show it off to the world?” Is the thinking behind #BellyJelly. So far, it’s brought all kinds of inspiring images and stories from women on social media. And TBH, we’re all for the #BellyJelly and being radically honest with our bodies.

So far, everyone’s loving this whole embracing-your-jelly thing. “I am all for normalizing bellies!,” writes one person on Instagram. “It isn’t fair to just show you the pretty bellies, the erect bellies, the before and “after” bellies. Even this unglamorous belly, doing all the work, kicking butt for thirty minutes already, on the last move of the last round, is beautiful. I #DareToBare my #BellyJelly.”

#BellyJelly isn’t just about loving your own body, it is also about teaching young women everywhere to love theirs. In a world where fat-shaming is unavoidable, it’s important for young women to feel confident about themselves and love their bodies.
“We all have it. She does. You do. So own it,” says an ad released by Movemeant. “When you own your belly jelly, you expose your grit. Your strength. Who you are.”
