Nothing beats a good old-fashion healthy and hearty breakfast that does not only fill your tummy but gives you a surge of energy that lasts all day. If you’re looking for simple, healthy and delicious breakfast idea that doesn’t take much time off with your busy mornings, then overnight oats is the perfect solution. All you need are your two hero ingredients, rolled oats and milk. The rest is up to your creativity.

The best thing about overnight oats is that you prepare it the night before, marry all the ingredients together, allow the magic to take place overnight in your fridge, and you enjoying it the next morning. It’s all about stirring together a couple of ingredients of your preference.

The base recipe itself is delicious, but if you want to spruce it up, add in a variety of ingredients of your choice that you think will go along well with rolled oats and milk. Some add-ons toppings include fresh fruit, nuts, seeds, spices, jams, and more. The creativity of this recipe is endless. Adding yogurt to this recipes adds in a whole new dimension to the flavor and texture, giving it a creamier taste which we’re all about.

To this power-packed overnight oats in a jar or glass, here’s an easy recipe you can try out!

1. Stir it all together

In a small jar, stir together the oats, milk, yogurt, chia seeds, and maple syrup.

2. It’s soaking time

Cover the jar and place it in the fridge to let the oats soak for at least 2 hours, though overnight is best.

3. Add toppings and enjoy your overnight oats!

The next morning, add your favorite toppings and enjoy! Alternatively, you can include all the toppings together with the base and leave it overnight.

Tips:

  • You can also whip up several batches of overnight oats for the week and keep it in the fridge up to 4 days. However, if you have included fruits, it’s best to keep it maximum up to 3 days as the fruit can go bad.
  • You can make your exciting by playing around with the flavours and toppings. There’s absolutely no right or wrong for this recipe, as it completely up to your creativity and taste buds.
