Incredibly fit men with elusive, dreamy physiques who spend considerable amounts of time at the gym make us women thirsty, but may have dampened sex drives. Bummer..
According to a study published in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise, the intensity and endurance of a guy’s workout routine directly mirrors the changes in his libido.
Researchers from the University of North Carolina quizzed close to 1,100 guys at various gyms about their sex lives, health, exercise regimes and medical histories, before comparing the results.
The conclusion? Men who stuck to shorter to moderate light intensity workout routines were more likely to have higher sex drives compared to men with longer or higher intensity routines.
This correlation exists as post-workout exhaustion and decreased testosterone levels (the result of excessive exercise) might affect the drop in libido.
While men should not stop exercising completely to maintain their buzz in bed, you may want to get him to take his crazy workout routine down a notch if he seems more passionate in the gym than you lately.
