If you’re a big Tom Hardy fan, you would have hopped around and cheered when Hugh Jackman said in a recent interview that he would like the 38 year old British actor to replace him as Wolverine. Jackman said this in an interview with MTV UK while promoting his movie, Pan.
Last year, Hugh Jackman confessed on social media that Wolverine 3 would be his last time starring as the adamantium-clawed mutant. After 17 years of playing Wolverine, Jackman felt like now is the perfect time for him to leave the franchise.
Wolverine 3 director James Mangold responded to Jackman’s social media post “Can’t wait to make this, HJ!”, confirming hints that Wolverine 3 would be Jackman’s last movie in the X-Men series. Since then there hasn’t been much buzz about the movie.
Tom Hardy is no stranger to action-packed films, we have seen him in Inception, Mad Max Fury Road, This Means War and also in The Dark Knight Rises, but whether he’d accept the role or not is a different story altogether. Fingers crossed!
Wolverine 3 opens in cinemas worldwide on March 3rd, 2017.
