Every day we are juggling work and life (and even study for some) at the same time, yet we still haven’t had the time to pamper ourselves. For most of us, our lives constantly consists of outdoor activities and all we ever wanted to is to get out of the prison-like house and party hard.

But wait, prison-like home? There are homebodies among us who literally treat home as heaven and isn’t there a quote that goes ‘home sweet home’? Although all the fun seems to be happening outside of the house, but there are days when we just want to stay in and enjoy being comfortable at home. You don’t have to feel bad for homebodies like us because we have the ultimate reasons why we would gladly stay at home!

1. Do all the things you love to do at home.

Watch movies forever and ever and ever or at least for a couple of hours. Sometimes I’ll pick an interesting director whose films I’ve never seen before, like Gregg Araki or Hal Hartley, and watch one film every night until I’ve seen their entire body of work. I love inviting friends over for Chinese food and a Disney movie marathon or ’80s movie marathon or, really, any movie marathon.

2. Alone Time

We all need that time to empty our mind and just relax and give ourselves a break from the outside world. In fact, it was proven that we are more creative when we are being alone. This is the only time you can reflect on your own life and past mistakes to be a better you.

3. Girl talk.

There are times the conversations between you and your best friends are just endless, even talking with your friend throughout the entire time in school wasn’t enough! In fact, we all have that dirty little secrets that you want to keep between only you and your friends so the best place to gossip about something is in your room. But you better make sure the secrets are only kept in the room and not elsewehre though.

4. Save money

Sit back and relax at your home with every thing you have instead of going out to spend on unnecessary stuffs. You can cook your own food at home and the money you save can be use for future travel plans or to buy the things you’ve wanted for a long time.

5. House party

Who said you can’t party hard when you’re staying at home? Throw an awesome house party by inviting all your friends and blast out the stereo at your own house! You can make it as loud as possible or simple a theme party that allows you to mingle around with your friends. But, of course do make sure you already plan out every thing beforehand and make sure everyone else is okay with it. Then you can have the all fun with your friends!

6. Practice alone-time

Once you’ve became comfortable with the idea of staying at home alone, spending time alone doing outdoor activities such as shopping, watching movie, swimming and so on can be easier than you thought. You can enjoy doing all these alone when most people can’t do it alone. You can do whatever you want without having to adhere to anyone’s preferences, schedule or expectations.

7. Your lifestyle

You chose to live like this so outsiders can have no reasons to pull you out from your current life unless it is for health concerns or other important things. While some prefer the social life with all the limelight on them, but for some, homebody just want to stay out of the limelight as much as they can and do their own stuffs. It’s just the way we enjoy our life.

But of course, we don’t want you to stay at home ALL the time, for health concerns. Homebodies still need to socialize once in a while. But next time when someone asks you about being a homebody, you can certainly tell them all these reasons!
