Peppermint is commonly used in toothpaste and floss, but did you know that it can also benefit your hair? We’ve listed some of the benefits of peppermint and how to use it for your hair.
1. It’s antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory
Antibacterial, antiviral, and fungicidal activities are found in peppermint. While these antimicrobial characteristics make peppermint oil a fantastic choice for cleaning, battling bacteria, and a variety of other home duties, they also make it a terrific alternative for cleansing the hair and scalp. Then, for about 5 minutes, massage as much scalp oil as needed into your scalp. Don’t rush during the massage; take your time and enjoy it! Following that, simply rinse, shampoo, and condition your hair as usual. Believe me when I say that your scalp will appreciate you!
2. Scalp cleanser
Did you know that adding a drop or two of peppermint oil to your shampoo will significantly improve its cleansing power? Simply lather the shampoo in your palm, add 1–2 drops of peppermint essential oil, and scrub away! It doesn’t get any simpler than this! Another option would be purchasing shampoos that contain peppermint extract – but adding peppermint essential oil works better.
3. Hair mask
For weary, limp, or over-processed hair, a nutrient-rich hair mask is ideal. Avocado, honey, banana, carrier oil, clay, herb, and various essential oils are among the natural elements that are healthy to your hair. Simply add 10 to 15 drops of peppermint essential oil to the recipe for a deeply nourishing hair mask. Another method is combining coconut oil with a few drops of peppermint essential oil. Slightly warm up the mixture and apply it onto your hair for 10 to 15 minutes. Then shampoo and condition as usual.
