Who doesn’t love cuddling? There is nothing quite like getting all comfortable in someone’s arms and enjoying episodes of your favourite series before falling asleep. There are plenty of benefits to spooning, like keeping each other warm, but here are some of the other reasons why should always encourage cuddling in the bedroom:
It literally makes you happier
We don’t know anyone that cuddles and gets mad after. Cuddling puts you in a state that helps your brain release dopamine and serotonin, which makes you happy. If touching someone makes you release hormones that puts you in a good mood then I say cuddle away!
Your bond with your partner will be stronger
According to a survey, which was done by the Edinburgh International Science Festival, you’re more likely to be happy and in a blissful state with your relationship if you two spend more time sleeping closer together.
You’ll be less stressed out
Did you know that your bran tells your adrenal glands to hold off on cortisol production when you make skin-to-skin contact with another person. Wondering what cortisol production is? It’s something in your body that makes you anxious or stressed. So, go ahead and cuddle!
You can get stronger from cuddling
Yeap, you read that right. Parasympathetic system, which is also know as relaxation can be stimulated when cuddling because it releases dopamine, serotonin and oxytocin. Of course with all of these feel-good hormones being released, it will help boost your immune system making you less prone to getting sick. Vitamin C may be great for you but cuddling is better.
You get better sleep
As we mentioned earlier, when you make skin-to-skin contact with someone (especially somebody you love), you will immediately feel more relaxed. When you’re not so anxious and stressed, you’re more likely to get a very good night sleep and go to bed at a reasonable hour.
