There is a lot of bad sh*t going on in this world, so it really does restore some faith in humanity when I hear of someone doing something good, just because. Everywhere you look, people are dying, fighting and killing one another.

It’s sad to see what we have evoled into and before, I start to sound like a Black Eyed Peas song, let me introduce to you, Mark Bustos. He is a hair stylist at an upscale New York salon, but he’s shown the world that not everyone he gives a haircut to has to have money.

On his only day off from work, which is on a Sunday, Bustos spends his time walking around the city that never sleeps in search for anyone that might need a good haircut. He approaches each one with a simple phrase, “I want to do something nice for you today,” and proceeds to giving a total of six people haircuts each Sunday.

Bustos has been doing this admirable work since May 2012, when he visited family in the Philippines. While he was there, he offered to pay a barbershop owner for a chair so that he could give haircuts to the poor kids that are in need of one. Bustos, 30, told the Huffington Post in an email, “The feeling was so rewarding, I decided to bring the positive energy back to NYC.”

He has also done this in Jamaica, Los Angeles and Costa Rica. Out of all his clients, Bustos said there was one person that really stuck out. “Jemar Banks — I’ll never forget the name,” he said to Huffington Post. “After offering him a haircut and whatever food he wanted to eat, he didn’t have much to say throughout the whole process, until after I showed him what he looked like when I was done … The first thing he said to me was, ‘Do you know anyone that’s hiring?'”

Bustos is often joined by his girlfriend, who asks them on what they would like to eat. “One response we’ve gotten is, ‘Nobody ever asks me what I actually want. I usually just get leftovers and scraps,'” said Bustos to Huffington Post.
