snickers plus milkmilk

We all know the Snickers. Yes, the candy bar made of roasted peanuts and caramel-topped nougat, enrobed in sweet milk chocolate. This stuff is really the concept of simplicity and confectionary perfection.

Some of us have a stash of this candy bar stored in our handbags for a little burst of energy, but did you know that the nutrients in a bar of Snickers,  watered down with a glass of milk can actually replace a meal? This perfect match combines all of the basic daily nutrients we need everyday.

A bar of Snickers is not just for couch potatoes and chocoholics – gym-goers also stock up on this candy bar to help power through all those intense workouts! Think about it – sugar gives you a quick boost of energy, while peanuts is a great source of energy and nutrients. Water it down with a glass of milk and you’ve got protein and lactose. It’s the perfect combination for those who aren’t keen on having a heavy mile pre-workout. (Source)

Studies shows that women who drink skimmed milk can lose more weight than those who exclude milk from their diet. Plus, drinking a glass of warm helps to relax tense muscles and soothes frayed nerves. It’s also been proven to boost our energy and to reduce the symptoms of our menstrual cycle. Source

According to the Ministry of Health, our standard daily calorie intake is 1940 calories for adult women and 2550 for adult men, but it may differ depends on age. Source

Let’s look at the calorie content – A bar of Snickers has 296 calories, but a glass of milk has contains about 42 calories on average; which means a total of 338 calories snack has the ability to recharge your body while keeping you full. Guess we now know what to pack in our lunch box for the week!

Disclaimer: We highly recommend not going overboard with Snickers, because it IS a candy bar after all. Much like alcohol, please enjoy responsibly.
