Tyrese seems to be unhappy with people who carry a bit of weight. The hip hop star recently received some bashing after his interview with All Hip Hop, where the star shared his point of view of his new self-narrated documentary, A Black Rose That Grew Through Concrete. The documentary features a timeline of his life to date.
During the interview, Tyrese said something that could seem very cruel towards anyone with body hangups. It it pretty harsh, so don’t say I didn’t tell you so:
“No two situations are the same. If you are fat and nasty and you don’t like the way you look, do something about it. It’s simple.
When you take a shower and you put your fat, nasty body in the shower and by the time you get out, the mirrors are all steamed up so you don’t look at what you did to yourself. That may sound offensive or insensitive but ultimately, you are big as hell because you have earned that sh*t. You worked your a** off to eat everything in sight to get big as hell.
If you got a problem with the way you look, then you need to do something about it. Excuses sound best to the people that’s making them up.”
Ok, Tyrese. I get where you’re coming from, but those words are insulting. It’s true that one should make a difference if they’re not happy about themselves, but you should never ever go around telling people what they need to do. It’s your own body that you should be worried about, and not others.
OPINION: I’m Fat and Happy, and It’s None of Your Business
