How To Boost Your Friend’s Self-Esteem

So, your gal pal is in the middle of some issues with herself – she constantly makes passive-aggressive remarks about her image, she constantly criticizes herself even for the smallest things. If this sounds like her, you know she’s beginning to lack confidence in herself. Here are four simple methods to help boost her confidence:

1. Be Honest
Women find it more difficult to accept harsh truth about themselves, but with the right attitude from the person who exposes it, they’ll begin to appreciate it more than lash out. Sit her down quietly and tell her that you’re observing the way she’s acting, and it doesn’t seem healthy at all. Also keep in mind that the conversation should be about her, and not how it affects you. The last thing you want to do is to guilt her into believing that her moods are rubbing off on you

2. Make Time For Her
Making yourself available for a friend in need can be tough, especially if you have numerous commitments to keep up with. But if you aim to help her, don’t make her one of your commitments. Make her well-being one of your priorities. Sure you may have to sacrifice a few things, but once she notices it, it’ll certainly come back to you in a good way.

3. Help Her See the Good Things in Life
The best things in life are free, but while little retreats can be costly, think about how it will make your friend feel better. A massage can do wonders. It stimulates the mind (while keeping you relaxed), and a spa just tops everything off. Or even better, get down on your hands and feet and volunteer at an animal shelter and she’ll definitely be filled with positivity in no time!

4. Engage in Healthy Activity
While it’s logical that your friend wants ‘alone time’, spending an entire weekend at home alone is not good for her, or her diet. Instead, get her to come out and seek the sun a little. Have a picnic by the nearest beach, or go for a little yoga session together. Being outdoors with happy people will certainly brighten up her spirit.
