Weight-loss may be on everyone’s mind, but did you know that you don’t have to succumb to spending over RM2000 on a gym membership a year when you’re only gonna go three to four times a week? Instead of using that time, your apartment can use a little up-keep, and you can kill two birds with one stone – a clean apartment and fit tenant! You can also save that money and treat yourself to a designer handbag. Motivated? Here are some house chores that can improve your weight-loss regime!

Clean The Bathroom
Cleaning your bathroom can be a somewhat therapeutic, and when you’re diligent enough to get on all-fours like Cinderella to scrub the floor until it’s immaculate and smelling like daisies, you can burn up to 250 calories!

Gardening
Even if you don’t have any flowers or potted plants in your garden, get into the spirit of planting them anyhow. Not only will you spruce up your place with greenery, but 30 minutes of gardening will help you lose up to 104 calories.

Walking the Dog
Walking your beloved dog gives you and your darling pooch some fresh air and exercise. If you have a small dog that usually needs 10 to 15 minutes of a walk, you can lose up to 70 calories depending on speed, while walking a big dog can triple that number if you’re out for 30 minutes!

Make the Bed
When we say make the bed, we really mean that you should ‘make the bed’. Take a little bit of time and to tidy the sheets and neaten up the covers so there aren’t any creases left. Arrange and fluff those pillows nicely, and you’ll notice you’ll start breaking a sweat in no time. You can burn up 20 calories making your bed, and if you add that up as a daily routine, you can burn up to 600 calories a month.

Car Wash
Instead of sending your car to the carwash centre, let loose, play some upbeat music and shake to beat while you wash your own car. You can save a lot of money, and even burn up to 300 calories per hour.

Vacuuming
Vacuuming may be a faster and more convenient alternative to sweeping, but did you know that some extensive vacuuming can tone the muscles in your arms while you burn up to 100 calories? Forget those robot vacuums, and get a decent one so you can put on your music, dance and burn more!

Mopping
Much like vacuuming, you can tone your arms and burn as many calories by mopping. Make it fun when you’re alone by incorporating a little dance routine to help you goof-off and have a laugh while you work out!
