Tiger Translate, a globally traveling creative platform for artists and musicians, is back in Malaysia, and set to feature alternative art pieces and music shows by both local and international talents. Malaysian artist Nicholas Choong will be responsible for the designs of Tiger Translate’s posters and merchandising. The theme this year is “East Meets West”, and will display a wide variety of unconventional acts and showcases. Before launching their epic finale, three satellite shows will be held, so don’t miss a chance to catch some talented artists!

The first show was held on May 27th at Laundry, The Curve, and featured local acts Amoura, dayDream and Reach for the Skies. The next show in Klang Valley will be at Bricks & Barrels, Desi Sri Hartamas on June 10th, and preforming there will be Car Crash Hearts, Mad August, and M.O.I.S.T. On June 5th, Penang will also have a show at the SOHO Gastropub in Precinct 10, where the bands Grand Theft Xperiment, MoBeat, and Damn Dirty Apes will be showcasing.

Held at APW in Bangsar on June 13th, the grand finale event will be an artistic explosion, as local bands such as Twilight Action Girl and rock band They Will Kill Us All will be dominating the stage. International acts will also be preforming, such as Taiwanese band Wongfu, My Little Airport from Hong Kong, and also two British acts called Tim Exile and Blood Red Shoes.

On the artsy side, Thai artist Rukkit Kuanhawate will display a 3D Tiger art sculpture, local artist Louise Low will be presenting glass art, Malaysian based artist Andrew T-Crum is showcasing contemporary art pieces, and lastly there will be a unique bar design by Hong Kong’s Parent’s Parent’s. Lovers of art will also get to make their own contribution, as there will be paint filled water balloons to throw at a blank canvas. Those who show up first also have a chance to grab some limited edition Tiger Translate/Huggaz beer bottle sleeves designed by Rukkit, Low, and Parent’s Parents.
