We’ve all heard of how successful Urban Decay’s Naked range is and a lot of beauty junkies swear by it. We really didn’t think they could outdo themselves until they released the latest addition to their Naked series, the very travel-friendly Naked On The Run. It includes the Perversion mascara, 24/7 Glide On eye pencil in Stag, Naked lipgloss, bronzer, blush, highlighter and eyeshadows in six different shades. Basically this travel-ready kit is loaded with everything you will need for your favourite naked look. The only downside to this palette is that it doesn’t come with brushes and it’s a little thick for a travel unit.
It will not fit in most women’s makeup bags I am sure, but with its own casing, you won’t need a makeup bag. Simply pack this away with your stuff and you’re ready to go. For those who are expecting a more versatile and neutral colours for the eyeshadows, we have to say that you might be a little disappointed because most of the colours are slightly on the shimmery side. However, just because they sparkle a little doesn’t mean they are not wearable.
The cheek products, which consist of a bronzer, blush and highlighter comes in perfect colours. Some may find these three items a little difficult to wear on their own but if you’re used to makeup, you should know how to blend these three to get the right kind of flush shade for your cheeks.
Next up is the Sesso Lip Gloss. See, I have always liked Urban Decay’s range of lip glosses because I find that they keep my lips moisturised instead of sticky and not a lot of lip glosses do that. The Sesso Lip Gloss included in the Naked On The Run Palette is a delicate plum rose-like colour that boasts a smooth texture with a hint of minty smell. It also lasts for a few hours, which is acceptable when lip glosses are concerned.
The Stag eyeliner, like most Urban Decay eyeliners are effective. It’s dark brown but has a sort of satin finish to it with a cool undertone. I found that like most eyeliners from Urban Decay, the Stag eyeliner has a long life line as it lasted almost the whole day without having me to retouch it.
Last but definitely not least is the Perversion Mascara. I have heard quite a bit about this mascara so I was very ecstatic to try it out and when I did, application was a complete breeze. It does have a wetter formula compared to most mascaras but perhaps that’s why it works so well and doesn’t flake or smudge throughout the day. Basically with its really black tone, your lashes can achieve a little drama and it sure does give a lot length when applied.
So, is this travel-friendly palette worth getting? Definitely. Packaging may be a little bulky but I don’t know any woman who carries a tiny handbag anymore so, this should fit in just about every woman’s handbag. If you’re not keen on carrying this around with you everywhere all day, then it will definitely come in handy when you go out of town. Instead of carrying a big makeup bag, you can simply take this palette with you!
The Urban Decay Naked On The Run is available at all Sephora outlets in the Klang Valley and is priced at RM188.
