Seeking to push the boundaries of Malaysia’s wedding industry, the inaugural Weddings.Arts.Fashion (WAF2015) made its debut as an experiential wedding exhibition. The much anticipated highlight was the stunning Designers’ Bridal Fashion Show.
Opening the fashion shows were collections by Monique Lhuillier and Jenny Packham — a first-time feature in Malaysia — hosted by Singapore-based boutique Trinity Gallery. T.
The fashion show to follow featured Malaysian bridal designer darling Celest Thoi, and Singapore-based Indonesian designer Jessicacindy. Thoi launched 30 new looks, including debuting a bridesmaid collection that featured 16 designs, as well as a WAF2015 exclusive reveal of Celest’s embellished pieces from her collaboration with Swarovski Crystal.
Creating modern looks on local tastes, leading local designers Alia Bastamam and Innai Red closed the show with their bridal collections.
Andros Chan, co-founder of WAF, said, “We want to offer future brides and grooms a holistic wedding experience by bringing together the best of the best in the Malaysian wedding industry. We hope WAF has opened more doors for creativity and inspired couples in planning their weddings.”
