Road Closures Beginning Feb 1 Due To Nike #WeRunKL & Thaipusam

Several roads around the city will be closed gradually beginning February 1st (Sunday) to make way for the Nike We Run KL 2015 21k run, as well as the Thaipusam chariot procession.

For Nike We Run KL 2015, the roads will be closed from 5am to 10am at Jalan Petaling, Jalan Maharajalela, Jalan Kinabalu, Jalan Hishamudin, Jalan Raja, Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Jalan Dang Wangi, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Sultan Ismail, Jalan P. Ramlee, Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Perak, Jalan Kuching, Jalan Loke Yew, Cheras Roundabout (U-turn), Dewan Bahasa Roundabout and Stadium Merdeka.

On the other hand, for Thaipusam, the roads would be closed in stages from February 1st to 4th.

The procession will begin on February 1st at the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Jalan Tun H.S. Lee and will proceed along Jalan Sultan, Jalan Pudu, Jalan Tun Perak, Leboh Ampang, Jalan Ampang, Jalan Munshi Abdullah, Jalan Dang Wangi, past Sogo, Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Sri Amar, Jalan Tun Razak (the U-turn in front of the Fire and Rescue Station), Jalan Ipoh (Jalan Salleh), Jalan Kovil Hilir, Lorong Kovil Hulu, Jalan Perhentian, Jalan Ipoh, Jalan Ipoh Batu 5 and to Batu Caves.

A few roads will again be closed during the return of the procession on February 4th, starting at the Sri Subramaniam Temple in Batu Caves and will proceed along Jalan Ipoh Batu 5, Jalan Ipoh, Jalan Perhentian, Lorong Kovil Hulu, Jalan Kovil Hilir, Jalan Tun Razak, Jalan Ipoh, Jalan Raja Laut, Jalan Dang Wangi, Jalan Munshi Abdullah, Jalan Ampang, Leboh Ampang, Jalan Tun Perak, Jalan Sultan, Jalan Hang Kasturi, Jalan Hang Lekir and to the Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in Jalan Tun H.S. Lee.

Kindly take alternative routes to get to your destinations to avoid traffic congestion.
