In its fourth consecutive edition this year, Le Marché de Noël 2014 captivated the hearts of everyone involved with a sense of giving to continue its works of supporting underprivileged children of Malaysia to fulfill their hopes and dreams.
Thousands of shoppers thronged the 60 stalls offering unique Christmas gifts and delicious food whilst Christmas carols were playing in the background, providing a French Christmas atmosphere at the one-day charity event.
Besides handcrafted accessories, special hand sewn goods for children and ladies as well as quirky gift items were available for sale. On the food front, there were French wine, homemade cheeses, brioches and other gourmet delicacies.
After the Christmas bazaar, a Christmas Charity Party took place for the sponsors, vendors and guests who purchased entrance tickets. Guests mingled and savoured a special French degustation aperitif dinatoire. Everyone was also serenaded by local singer Najwa Halim, accompanied by other musicians. Before ending the night, an Evening Raffle draw and silent auction were announced.
This year, Le Marché de Noël received overwhelming support from various parties. The amount raised will go to Make A Wish Malaysia and A-Heart for A-Heart program for the second year running to support needy children. Last year, Le Marché de Noël raised RM107,000 to help children suffering from bone cancer, ovarian cancer, acute lymphoblastic leukaemia and osteosarcoma by fulfilling their wishes and by supporting selected children financially for heart surgeries.
The RM20 entrance ticket fee for the French Christmas bazaar and RM150 for the Christmas party went towards raising the targeted amount. Axens, Gleneagles, Peugeot, Citroen, Air France, Ludev, AGS Four Winds Malaysia, Global Turbine Malaysia, Luther, Technip, Intermovers, One Subsea and BNP were some of the key sponsors of the event.
