It’s week 11 of my Celebrity Fitness challenge now and I’m still going strong! Or at least I thought I was until my personal trainer (PT) told me that he was going to put me through something he calls, “Complex Training”. What is “Complex Training”, you ask?”
“It is a ‘complex’ series of resistance exercise that usually uses a single equipment such as dumb bell, bar bell, kettle bell, etc. You perform the exercises with minimal rest or no rest at all and without letting go or putting down an equipment until the whole set of exercise is done. One equipment, one load, one space,” he said.
I’ll be straight up honest right now and say that I’ve always found these set of exercises really difficult. Not because they were hard to do but because I don’t have the required good upper body strength yet. But hey, they don’t call this a challenge for nothing so, challenge accepted! Here’s what it required me to do:
Repeat 3 sets (with 8 lbs dumb bells)
10 x Push-ups
10 x Romanian Dead Lift
10 x Bend Over Roll
10 x Front Squat
Repeat 3 sets (with 8 lbs dumb bells)
10 x Push Press
10 x Overhead Lunges
10 x Renagade Roll
Every single time without fail, I learn new terms, new exercises and new ways to use my body when exercises. Though it is exciting to learn something new, always remember to ask a professional when you are not sure so that you do not injure or hurt yourself. Last but not least, have fun! 🙂
