Have you been procrastinating on what to go as for Halloween? Well, we’ve got you covered! We’ve picked out 10 last minute, easy and no-brainer Halloween costumes or characters you can dress up as to all your exciting Halloween parties happening this weekend. Unfortunately, Halloween isn’t that big of a deal here in Malaysia compared to the U.S.A, but that shouldn’t stop you from going all out! Have fun and get inspired. 😉
1. A comic book character
You can wear whatever you want with this look as it’s all about the makeup. Apply a foundation that’s a few shades lighter than your skin tone. The most important step for this look is to outline and define your facial features with black eyeliner. Hence, focus on the eyebrows and the eyes, the nose, the lips, hollows of the cheeks, as well as the lips. After you’ve applied your lipstick, use a lighter lip colour or white eyeshadow to highlight one section of the lip. You can also look up a photo of your favourite comic book character and try to copy the makeup.
2. God’s gift to men or women
Just dress your best and make a giant gift tag with the words, “To: Men, From: God”. This is SO easy, but it works and it’s funny!
3. A Lego brick
Get a rectangular cardboard box and lay it vertically. Cut one bigger hole at the top for your head and then two smaller holes at both sides for your arms. Then, get six plastic bowls and glue them upside down on the front of the box. Paint the entire thing in any colour you like.
4. A loofah
Buy a large amount of tulle from any fabric store and get your hands on a short tube dress. Glue or sew the tulle on the dress and make sure every piece of tulle is close together so that your loofah dress will look fluffier. Don’t forget to sew on a piece of rope and hang it around your neck to complete your look.
5. ’80’s workout queen
Raid your mother’s closet for old bright coloured leotards or tacky workout gear to put an outfit together. Don’t forget that sweatband! Tie your hair in a high ponytail and then do your makeup. Remember, the brighter, the better. So, pack on that blush, pink lipstick and eyeshadow in the colours of the rainbow.
6. A gumball machine
Get your hands on a red bodycon skirt and a tube top that you no longer want. On the front of the skirt, use some metallic duct tape to create a rectangular shape. Then, cut out and adhere paper or fabric for the price, spin handle and the hole for the gumball to dispense. For the tube top, buy a huge pack of ready made pompoms and glue it down to cover the entire tube top.
7. Three blind mice
Gather two more friends and go shopping for brown or gray long-sleeved tops and pants, as well as matching shoes. Then, get some shades and walking sticks to complete the look. Headbands with mouse ears are optional. You can also use makeup to paint the tip of your nose black and add on some whiskers on your cheeks.
8. A nerd
Get your boyfriend’s dress shirt and pair it with some black or brown pants. Make sure to tuck the shirt all the way in. Then, put on some suspenders and a bow tie. Get some plastic spectacles with slightly large frames. Next, use some tissue and tape to wrap around the nose bridge, giving an impression that the spectacles are broken. Finally, tie your hair in high pigtails.
9. A scarecrow
Wear some jeans and a plaid shirt, paired with some boots. Now, use makeup to create a little triangle on your nose and fill it in with orange eyeshadow. Finish off the nose by creating little stitches along the lines of the triangle. Then, draw two curved lines connecting to your mouth and create little stitches to finish the look. Throw on a straw hat if you have one!
10. A prickly cactus
Get your hands on a dark green hoodie and sweatpants. Then, buy a huge pack of plastic straws. Cut the straws into half, fold those pieces in the middle and sew them down on the hoodie and sweatpants. When you arrive at the party, just stand still and arrange your arms accordingly!
