Not a single day goes by without reading a news about cosmetic surgery on celebrity gossip websites. We all know a lot of celebrities have got some ‘work done’ and in fact, it isn’t a really big deal anymore. The topics of cosmetic surgery are constantly discussed about and the debates about cosmetic surgery come to light whenever people look different than they used to. As appearance has turned into a qualifying factor to win the ideal job in a certain company, some people are willing to go under a knife to be able to get their dream job. But before you possibly make this huge decision on changing your look, here are 7 interesting facts about cosmetic surgery that you might not know.

1. Cosmetic surgery can be addictive
People can get addicted to cosmetic surgery especially when the procedure gives a rather satisfying result. People constantly thrive for perfection and so once they have had a taste of the difference in their looks, they simply want more to make sure the beauty lasts longer. The obsession with the surgery can get out of control because some people look for excitement in the difference of their look instead of the beauty.

2. The most common surgical procedures and who are most likely to go under a knife
A study by the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons (ISAPS) shown that U.S. has the most surgical procedures done out of the 25 countries. However, the study revealed that South Koreans are the most likely to undergo cosmetic surgery in order to have the ‘Western’ look. Plastic surgery has indeed becomes a norm in South Korea and some even revealed that plastic surgery could be the birthday gift from the parents.

3. Colder season is the best time for plastic surgery
The plastic surgery clinics are generally more popular during Fall and Winter season. The recovery is easier as some procedures require people to stay out of the sun that will directly affect the skins. People can cover up their scars too with the layers of clothes during the colder season.

4. No Age Limit
There is no specific age limit for plastic surgery but for someone who is underage must obtain consents from their parents or guardian. Most of the surgeons explained they would actually do

5. Bad candidates for cosmetic surgery
Not everyone’s allowed to undergo cosmetic surgery due to the specific body conditions that might affect the health with chemicals injected into the body. Those with medical problems and psychological problems especially heavy smokers and alcoholics are advised not to do plastic surgery because it is a matter of health concern.

6.  The implants will not burst or alter shape even if you squeeze them too hard
Breast implants is to augment the physical size of the breast, either with silicone or saline. Surprisingly, the implants will not burst or alter shape even if you squeeze them too hard. It’s almost impossible to do so because it requires superhuman force to rupture them. However, the air around the implants may expand due to low pressure during a plane trip but it will not burst.

7. Cosmetic surgery and plastic surgery are different
Cosmetic surgery is a surgery which the procedure is unnecessary but the patient chooses to have; while plastic surgery is a surgery concern with improving the function and appearance after injury or illness. Hence, most of the celebrities actually undergone cosmetic surgery instead of plastic surgery.
