Meeting the parents can be the most daunting thing and if it’s that time for you, don’t be afraid to ask him a few questions about them, so that you’ll go in there prepared! If your palms are sweating just at the thought of meeting them, don’t worry, because we have come up with a few things you can do to have them falling in love with you.

1) Bring a little something
I think this is really important. Doesn’t matter if it’s a bottle of wine or a dessert dish that you cooked up earlier that day. This shows that you have made an effort and that you were looking forward to meet them.

2) Find a common interest
Like mentioned earlier, find out from your boyfriend about what they like and where they have traveled to. During dinner, you can casually bring up the topic that you have in common with them. This breaks the ice a lot better.

3) Show them you’re good for him
Most parents will want a partner that is good to their child and one that will influence them to be even better. So, if they bring up something that he has always had a hard time doing, like eating veggies, then you should casually mention that he now loves broccoli after getting him to try it this one time.

4) Ask them questions
People love talking about themselves and this is a well-known fact! So, without making it seem like you’re brown-nosing, why not ask him what your boyfriend was like as a child, ask his parents about their honeymoon, or ask about their most memorable moment with their son.

5) Show them who you are
Not in an annoying way, but introduce them to a little bit of your personality. Don’t allow your boyfriend to do all the talking for you because they might find it creepy.

6) Don’t forget their other kids
Don’t ignore his siblings, talk to them and compliment them from time to time. This will help you build a good relationship not only with his brothers and sisters but also with his parents.

7) Be yourself
This is the most important of all, you can only impress them so much but at the end of the day, if you’re being awesome self and they can’t seem to accept you then it’s their loss. There is a reason why your boyfriend is head over heels in love with you and if he is, they will be too.
