To get to know more about Take Off Retreats and the founders of this amazing idea, we decided to interview them to get more insight on how everyone can benefit from these personalised holidays.
What inspired for the both of you to start this particular idea?
It was in India right after the both of us had completed a month long course. A Yoga Teacher Training Course for Jenny and Vipassana Meditation for me. You wouldn’t believe what a profound effect it had on us. After we had learned to control our minds, all the worries, stress and boundaries we’ve been living with seemed no longer significant. We started to see the world with a new pair of eyes and that was a wonderful feeling. Because we experienced such a feeling, we also felt that everybody deserved that too. So, since then we decided to devote ourselves and our time into creating self-changing retreats while hosting them in some of the most beautiful parts of the world. Our aim is to help people clear their minds, rejuvenate their bodies with energy and make them part of an unforgettable adventure.
How do you feel people can benefit from the services that Take Off Retreats has to offer?
There is a multitude of ways that people can benefit from TOR, like, you get to take a break and have a fresh taste of life. In such a short time, you can see life-changing results in yourself while feeling healthier, more energised, and confident in achieving any goals. What do you find is the most rewarding part about traveling as much as you both do?
There is so much in this world that we all need to get out of our comfort zone and the sooner we realise that, the better. Such an epiphany awakens you from that day-to-day life and rethink your values. But it doesn’t have to happen in the blink of an eye. Like a book, you must go through it chapter by chapter. Besides, we both like to keep ourselves awake, active and opened to every new experience, so our everlasting desire to explore more in this world keeps us moving from one place to another and inspiring people to do the same is a reward on its own.
How did you come about the idea of Skype Yoga?
It came quite naturally. We have so many friends around the world who have the similar desire to learn yoga, but struggle either with finding the right studio and suitable courses in their town, or face some other difficulties such as finding time for it. Imagine, would you immediately sign up for a half a year yoga school to have classes twice a week at 7pm right after work on the other side of town without much knowledge about the subject? We don’t think so.That’s scary and can even turn into a very unpleasant liability at the end. Who wants that? Thus we decided to provide people with a chance to avoid all that. To start yoga and do it one-on-one with a teacher at your own comfort. So you will be free to assign your own preferable time, do it from your own home or wherever is most comfortable and get the kind of personal attention you would want when doing yoga!
What kind of experience would you have to have to participate in the Skype Yoga lessons?
Well, that’s the beauty of it – even if you are an absolute alien to yoga with just a basic understanding of Skype – it’s sufficient for take off.
Where are you both based at the moment?
Currently we are based in Bali. It’s a great and deeply spiritual place with a magic atmosphere. After getting to know the culture Bali has to offer, we can see why it’s called The Island of Gods. It’s truly fascinating to observe Balinese people and their perception of life.
And what do you hope to achieve through Take Off Retreats?
In general we simply want to apply ourselves in order to make this world better and turn people into human beings that are more aware, healthier and contented in their lives.
