It’s not everyday you hear that school security guards who are paid to keep you and your kids safe, beat up a parent while on duty. But that’s exactly what happened to Chong Nicole Francine Ming Yang. She said the incident took place when she was trying to take a photo of one of the security guards who allegedly lied about the headmaster’s presence.
“I was not allowed to park in the school compound and what made me very angry was the fact that they lied about the headmaster not being in the office despite an appointment to meet with him a week in advance,” the 36-year-old housewife said.
“Feeling frustrated, I decided to park my car at the entrance and go in. To my shock, I found the headmaster sitting in his office!” she said, questioning the headmaster and the security guard’s motives.
“I’m a parent and I have the right to ask on my son’s progress in school. Why lie and try to avoid me?”
After the meeting, Nicole was told to remove her vehicle by the security guards.
“I agreed. But I also wanted to know why they lied to me,” she explained, adding that the security guard avoided her. “I decided to take a photo of the security guard so that I can complain to their employer.”
A scuffle broke out, leading two other security guards to hold Nicole by the arms.
“The third one – the one I was trying to take a photo of – punched me four times in the chest and stomach.”
Nicole then lodged a police report on the same day at the Seremban 2 police station at 3.52pm and said she might take legal action against the security guards and their employer.
Meanwhile, Negri Sembilan education director Datuk Kalsom Khalid said, with both sides having already lodged police reports, the department would investigate the matter.
