Twitter has recently unveiled its latest ability to make custom timelines. Users can create their own timelines around specific events, filled with tweets from selected users and topics.
“Whether you want to collect the best Tweets about a TV show or help people find the latest information about fast-moving real-time situations, custom timelines let you give everyone a place to follow along,” said Brian Ellin, product manager for Twitter.
You’ll need Tweetdeck in order to create your own custom timelines and developers can also make one using the Twitter API.
If you’re familiar with Tweetdeck, you’d recognize the new concept, since the service has long allowed its users to create custom columns of content according to individual preferences. The difference is that those columns are now portable and the custom timelines will be fully embeddable.
However, not all Tweetdeck users can make custom timelines yet as Twitter will be rolling out the option to all of its users over the next few days.
