It was a cheery, high-energy sea of pink on September 28th at Sunway Pyramid as participants of all ages gathered for a fun BOSU workout, organized by Celebrity Fitness Malaysia in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Speaking of celebrities, participants found themselves working out next to the likes of Ning Baizura, Dahne Iking, Sazzy Falak, Goh Wee Ping and many more! Also at the event was the creator of the now famous half-inflated rubber exercise ball, David Weck, who kicked off the event with an inspiring speech.

“Seeing so many participants makes me feel so blessed and honoured today – I get to share the benefits of working out with BOSU…which will improve one’s body stability and body alignment while training their neurological system to interact with the musculoskeletal system” he said.

The Celebrity Fitness campaign also raised RM10,000 which went to the Breast Cancer Welfare Association (BCWA).

“With the support of our sponsors, participants and members, we are pleased to have raised RM 10,000 within one month! We are truly grateful for everyone’s generosity and we definitely look forward to making this event even bigger next year” said Krishnan Malhotra, Country Group Fitness Manager of Celebrity Fitness Malaysia.

Besides introducing a fun new way to workout, the event also helped illuminate the issue of breast cancer – the most common illness among adult women in Malaysia, with more than one in twenty women being affected annually. To help curb the issue, proceeds will also be channelled towards other BCWA activities like the MURNI (Mobile Unit Reaching Nationwide with Information) programme that conducts clinical breast examinations and teaches breast self-examination within the “urban villages” of the Klang Valley.
