Asians aren’t as lucky as Europeans to be blessed with snow during the holidays. So that means we actually have to travel to the other side of the world if we want a winter vacation. If you’re looking for a true winter experience, Europe has some of the best and most diverse places to spend the winter. To give you a helping hand, we’ve listed a few of Europe’s best cities to explore:

Paris, France
Paris is itself the most during the winter. The city is less crowded and there is plenty to see and do. You can wander through the Louvre and even take advantage of the museums and monuments that offer free admission on first Sundays. What better time to enjoy your croissants than when in France and plus, the sales mean you can do plenty of shopping too!

Abisko, Sweden
If you’re seriously in love with winter then Abisko is probably a town that you just have to visit. As far North as you can get on a train, this charming Swedish town is one of the best places for you to catch the Northern Lights. But keep it mind that the sun doesn’t come up for weeks on end during December and January. Besides marveling at the beautiful Aurora Borealis, you can also ski, hike, go dog-sledding, ice skate and explore the vast national parks. You can also check out the famous Icehotel in the nearby town of Kiruna.

Venice, Italy
The Carnival of Venice is one of the top tourist attractions in Europe during winter. It’s totally weird but beauty and haunting. Visiting the charming Italian city of Venice during the winter allows for you to get a glimpse of a more slow side of the city, which gives you a chance to truly soak up all the culture that it has to offer. The atmosphere, culture and architecture in Venice is truly magical during the cold weather.

Prague, Czech Republic
Prague is most picturesque and most romantic during winter, it almost looks as if it came right out of a fairytale book. Surprisingly, Prague is pretty tourist-free during the winter, which is a shame because under a blanket of snow, Prague really shows its true beauty. You can enjoy a cup of hot chocolate at pretty much any cafe and why not take a stroll through the Prague Castle.

Amsterdam, Netherlands
Winters in Amsterdamn can get pretty darn cold but if you can take the chill then enjoy the vastly discounted rates for hotel rooms and flights. Spend your winter days basking in the white beauty of the city as its covered in snow and go ice skating as there are many places that you can do so.
