Pole dancing wasn’t welcomed with much positivity in Malaysia due to it being linked to the seedy side of the sex industry. But pole dancing isn’t really about grinding against a long brass rod in a skimpy outfit.

Pole dancing is a combination of strength-based internal training, isometric muscle contractions, isometric muscular contractions and sex-positive moves to give women the opportunity to not only give their body a full workout, but to accentuate those curves God graced them with! It doesn’t always have to be sexual. In fact, pole dancing takes a lot of body strength and flexibility, and most of all – confidence.

Here are some of the fitness benefits of pole dancing:

Burns Calories
Pole dancing gives you the opportunity to burn as much calories as an intense gym session, except you’ll have more fun and discover what your body is really capable of.

Builds and Tones Muscles
With frequent pole dancing lessons, you don’t only burn the calories, but it also builds your muscles and tones them too. Pole dancing involves supporting your entire body weight with your arms, but you’re also required to support your arms with your stomach muscles. That also helps define the muscles in your butt and thighs, so expect to see a beautiful derrière with frequent pole dancing lessons.

Increases Flexibility
If you seem to have trouble reaching your toes during yoga class, pole dancing will help improve your flexibility. Stretching exercises are crucial before every pole dancing session to reduce tension in the body. Splits and backbends are often incorporate in pole dancing, so with practice, you’ll see  significant flexibility in your moves!

Instills Body Positive Values
Pole dancing gives women the chance to work with their feminity. It doesn’t always have to be sexual, but it will be fun and body positive. Working your muscles during pole dancing boosts the release of endorphins, which in return, boosts your confidence levels. It’ll make you feel healthier, attractive and body confident too.
