NGO MyWatch (Malaysian Crime Watch Task Force) Chairman, R Sri Sanjeevan was shot twice by two motorcyclists at Taman Awana Indah, Bahau.
The 29-year-old was in a silver BMW with his friend, B Ramesh, 35, at the time of the incident. Jempol Chief Police, Superintendent Hamzah Alias said Sanjeevan had just picked his friend up and was heading to Bahau for tea. The victim had wound down the car window to smoke a cigarette.
A Yamaha LC motorcycle came from behind with two Indian motorcyclists on it. The pillion rider shot at the victim, hitting him right in the abs. The suspect got down from the motorcycle and approached the car.
The victim managed to drive away while the two suspects fled elsewhere. The victim was moved to the backseat and sent to the hospital.
The case is currently being under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
The victim still has no idea who is behind the shooting and why.
DAP MP for Puchong Gobind Singh Deo suspects that Sanjeevan was shot due to his recent expose about police involvement in crime syndicates.
