There comes a point when we are all through with dating what is considered a ‘boy’. We want to be with someone mature and proper who is on another level. Apart from the obvious reasons for not wanting to be with a boy, what are the other differences?
Ambition: A man will see what he wants and will go and get it. A boy will be unsure and too afraid to take the plunge head first like a man will because he will not have the same certainty. This applies to with a woman, a man won’t waste his time playing games. He will see you, know what his intentions are and go for them.
Future: The difference between a boy and a man is that a man knows where his future is heading or at least has some sense of secure direction because he will be working. This means that naturally your relationship will have more sense of direction than it would with a boy because a man knows what he wants in his life. The chances are you will be taken more seriously and have a bigger future ahead, however keep in mind maturity!
Time: Though being lovebirds and spending every second of every day with your loved one is ideal- it is not reality, these are high school relationships. A man knows how to manage his time and if you are important he will find time to spend with you. He also won’t waste time if he is properly into you, this goes back to ambition.
Honesty: We all get shy when talking about certain situations. It may be sex, confronting where your relationship is going, the list goes on. A man will know how to speak about these things openly and make you feel comfortable about them. Moreover, it will be easier to communicate with a man and therefore have a healthier relationship.
Commitment: A man will be more likely to commit to you and your relationship properly. Boys tend to be scared away by commitment, a man will take charge and treat you how you deserve to be treated.
Works and plays: Boys will be going out with their guys and partying the nights away. Men know how to socialise and have a good time but will have bigger and better things on their mind such as their careers… or you!
Something important to keep in mind when looking for the right person is to self reflect. How are you acting? Because a real man will need a woman in his life so you will have to be up to par as well!
