There’s no doubt that white is one of the most sought after color when it comes to choosing a car, Malaysians are smart and safe buyers who like to stick to a safer color that matches with just about everything, and let’s face it, white makes a car look much more elegant and sophisticated. If you’re wondering why Honda didn’t include that color in their third Generation City, then wonder no more because Honda has just launched the Taffeta White City two days ago. The color is in addition to the existing colors of Alabaster Silver, Polished Metal and Crystal Black.
The third Generation City was launched in December 2008 and since then, Honda has already sold more than 36,000 units. Following the launch of this new color, the company is expecting it to contribute approximately 40% to its monthly sales target of 1,700 units of Honda City per month. The car, packed with style, performance, practicality and best-in-class features, will be available in Grade E and Grade S selling at RM90,480 and RM85,480 respectively.
In conjunction with the launch of the new color, Honda is also holding a month-long rock climbing competition in support of advancement in life, which is inspired by City’s four qualities: Performance, Style, Practicality and Best-in-class. The competition will be broken down into two categories targeted at participants 21 years and above.
Open Climber: This category is opened to the general public, even non-climbers in a team of two. Participants for this category are required to submit one climbing photo shoot that best interprets one of City’s unique qualities: Performance, Style, Practicality and Best-in-class.
Pro Climber: This category is targeted at professional climbers with climbing experience rated Grade 6c, a French Numerical climb rating system with 1 being the easiest and 9b being the most difficult. Climbers will need to submit four photo shots that truly reflects all City’s qualities.
Registration is open from now until 7 December 2010. The submissions will be evaluated via an online public voting system, where 25 teams from Open category and 20 competitors from Pro Climber category are short-listed. The final showdown between the short-listed competitors is scheduled to take place on 18 December 2010 in Camp5, Asia’s premier indoor climbing gym located in the New Wing of One Utama Shopping Centre.
During the final showdown , the team from Open category that climbs the most mileage in 2 hours would win an adventure=filled climbing trip on the limestone cliff in Krabi, Thailand worth RM3,500 along with a 1-year membership in Camp5.
