7 Bad Habits That Will Damage Your Skin

A lot of us are guilty to a couple of vices, especially ones related to maintaining beautiful skin. On top of your daily beauty ritual, a lot of habits and mistakes can offend leave you with bad skin. Some of us have bad skin habits and don’t even realize just what it is doing to us. Here are the most common bad habits that can undo all that love and care you give your skin.

Picking Pimples
Popping and squeezing a zit might make your pimple scars even worse and spread breakouts. Some of them even do it themselves and they don’t even know that they’re doing it in a wrong way. Seek the help of a professional or a beauty therapist or use an anti-blemish product that contains anti-inflammatories to soothe your skin. Tea tree oil is always a safe bet.

Going Outside Without Sunscreen
Some of us are guilty for not applying sun cream because it’s sticky. In fact, going out without any sunscreen is just like building your house without roof. UV rays will shine directly into your skin and accelerate your skin aging process. Sun is the major source of aging skin so opt for a moisturizer with SPF protection.  SPF15 and SPF30 will be good enough, and the more frequent you apply sun cream, the more protection you get.

Make-Up Mayhem
We clearly understand how tired we are after parties or gathering until late night and sometimes we might snooze off with make-up on. But you really shouldn’t. Dusts, dead skin cells and oil are all accumulated on your skin all day long and it can lead to bacterial infections, clogged pores which can cause acne. If you’re too lazy to wash your face, get some cleansing wipes or put a bottle deep cleansing oil next to your bed.

Chugging Too Much Alcohol
We’re not discouraging you from having an after-work session with your girlfriends, but dermatologists believe that having a second glass of cocktail is enough to make you age quickly.

Using the Wrong Skincare Products
A lot of people find it hard to accept their skin type. Find out just what your skin type is  and use the right products. Opt for oil control products if you suffer from a lot of zits, or a hydrating lotion if you have very dry skin.

Using Dirty Makeup Brushes
Your makeup brushes should always be cleaned thoroughly. If doing it on a daily basis seems way too tedious for you, at least clean it once a week. This is especially important for your foundation and blush brushes.

Sleeping Late
Sleep depravation will trigger all sort of skin condition and on top of tired under eyes, you’ll also suffer worst ones like acne and eczema. Your body and your skin requires sleep to repair the damage your body has endured during the day  while helping the blood flow of your skin. This is why some people end up looking very pale when they have very little sleep. (Source)
