Remember Tilda Swinton, the elf-like woman who played the White Witch in The Chronicles of Narnia? Well, guess what? She is now the new face of Chanel’s latest campaign!
The creative director of Chanel Karl Lagerfeld has chosen the English actress Tilda Swinton to star in the brand’s Metiers d’Arts Paris-Edimbourg collection campaign. The Scottish-influenced collection was unveiled last December at Scotland’s Linlithgow Palace, where models strutted their stuff in tons of tartan and even kilts.
“Tilda perfectly embodies the Paris-Edimbourg collection,” said Lagerfeld. “She is of course Scottish, but more than that she is a modern woman, a timeless icon of elegance.”
The fashion-forward Swinton was known for playing up an androgynous style and her sense of fashion has been described as avant garde and brilliant. Lagerfeld even personally photographed the statuesque star for this campaign in a French castle near Chantilly.
The campaign shots will appear in fashion publications this May and honestly, we can’t wait to see the outcome! Chanel and Tilda Swinton are truly a match made in heaven!
