After a failed attempt to barge into the cockpit while the flight was in mid-air, a male passenger on an Air Asia flight from Kuala Lumpur to India was taken into custody at the Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) on Sunday.
According to our source, the passenger who was reported mentally ill, turned aggressive as as he ran towards the cabin door and tried to forcefully open the cockpit door. The other passengers immediately intervened and pulled him away when he failed to open the handle of the cabin door.
When the plane landed safely at the Cochin International Airport, CIAL security took custody of the passenger after they were alerted of the incident. Sources say that no further actions was taken against the person as he was mentally ill. The passenger was then let off along with his family members, who came from Malappuram.
