Just about everyone’s a going crazy over bubble-tea these days. For us, we can’t seem to go through a day without a cup during lunch. And since we all love bubble-tea so much, we’ve decided to list down our top picks and share them with you. Sharing is caring, after all, and why not give these refreshing cups a try since your favorite Lipstiq girls love it so much!
1. Hazelnut Milk Tea with Pop Eggs
If you love the flavor of hazelnuts, then Ochado’s Hazelnut Milk Tea would be the go-to beverage for you. At 50% sugar, this glass of sweetness if both refreshing and it soothes the soul too. Instead of going with the traditional Boba pearl, we highly recommend picking the ‘Pop Eggs’ instead. These round balls of amber are an especially sweet surprise. Apart from the bursting ‘pops’ sensation it makes when you bite on it, they release a sweet coffee-caramel flavored syrup that somehow gives the Hazelnut Milk Tea a slight edge.

2. Horlicks Smoothie with Pearl
Upon stumbling the ‘Horlicks’ sign at one of the most popular bubble tea joints in Malaysia, Chatime, we were excited to the core. Let it be known that Horlicks in general, takes us back to childhood memories when Christmas photos looked like they had the ‘Walden’ effect on Instagram. The Horlicks Smoother at Chatime is really like having the past come back to you, only better. In terms of flavor, the fact that they use tea instead of milk in the mixture, it actually tones down the level of sweetness of the beverage, or in other words, much more to enjoy. Let’s also not forget that just before they seal the cup, at least 4 to 5 tablespoons of Horlicks powder is added on top. The Horlicks Smoothie does not come with Boba pearls, but you can just add it on to your drink for a small fee. We’re not sure if this Horlicks menu is seasonal, but we’re getting as much of it as we can!

3. Winter melon Tea with Cream
You may recall winter melon juice in the form of Tetrapaks from Yeo’s during Chinese New Year. Tea Chansii is a fairly new tea joint that’s know for its fruit teas using natural ingredients. Winter melon juice is one of the most refreshing beverages with Although this doesn’t actually come with Boba pearls, the speciality lies the thick, creamy milk that makes it purely addictive.

4. Gong Cha Signature Green Tea
If anyone’s got a way to make a cup of ice cold green tea better, Gong Cha gets the trophy. Not only is the green tea rich and full of flavor, but that slightly savory milk topping is by far the best (and sinful) addition to it all. The teamakers even tell you just how you should drink it. Starting from the top where the layer of cream is, and sip at each layer while gradually moving your straw down to the tea. It’s the perfect beverage to have after a long day!

5. Purple Rice Milk Tea
We found it a little intriguing that one would use actual grains in a milk tea, but when we saw it featured on Come Buy’s menu, we just had to have it. We’d probably call it like a meal on its own since it has purple rice, or what you may recognize as black glutinous rice or ‘pulut hitam’. The beverage is not only refreshing, but it feels surprisingly healthy too. We’d say that it’s the perfect choice for both dessert and after-meal beverage.
