Aēsop Eidesis Eau de Parfum
There are essentially two types of perfumes – one with a significant scent that triggers pleasant memories, and one with the power to mesmerise those around you. Both tend to be gorgeous, floral/woody scents that are captivating and alluring. They bring out the inner femininity/masculinity in you, allowing yourself to walk with character and class.
One perfume that ticks both boxes is the new Aēsop Eidesis Eau de Parfum. The beguiling magnetism of Eidesis Eau de Parfum is drawn from myth and mesmeric ingredients. Luring your senses into a landscape of wooded depths, iridescent florals and liquid stillness, it is part of a collection of distinct fragrances created with long-term fragrance partner, Barnabé Fillion, titled Othertopias – a collection of transportive scents, inspired by liminal spaces.
Eidesis is a battle between the inside and external worlds happening in the space of one’s own self. Borrowing iconography from the Narcissus myth, Eidesis honours the imaginary worlds beyond the surface of the mirror by infusing flowery overtones reminiscent of a pool or a gazing glass, combined with an earthy, woodsy base of Vetiver, Sandalwood and Cedar.
Fillion comments:
“A smell, whether in the air, on our skin, or on our clothes, creates a world within our world that is both physical and imagined – a phenomenon that blurs the boundaries of past and present, real and unreal, here and there. A window into nature, so to speak, one that invites a dialogue with surroundings that we inhabit but often overlook”.
Similar to the collection’s existing fragrances, Eidesis is designed for those seeking complex and unique aromas that know no gender boundaries. A fragrance that encourages you to converse with nature, while challenging your perceptions; as well as offering you the opportunity to be pleasantly lost in your field of thoughts.
Housed in a 50ml amber glass bottle, Eidesis Eau de Parfum is enclosed in a carton with a painting by Belfast-based artist, Jack Coulter.
An aroma that is provocative and seductive yet comforting, this perfume is now available at all Aēsop signature stores, Aēsop online and selected departmental stores.
